Ok so here are the cupcakes I made for the bake-off. They are amazing! They are not difficult, just time consuming but so worth it. I made the filling, frosting, and cupcakes one day and they filled and frosted them the next day.
Chocolate Caramel Cupcakes
I used this recipe for the cupcakes: http://jaimecooks.wordpress.com/2010/01/16/chocolate-cupcakes-with-vanilla-malted-frosting/
I used this recipe for the frosting: http://www.joythebaker.com/blog/2011/02/dulce-de-leche-cupcakes/
I followed these instructions to make the filling, I used 2 cans and doubled the baking time: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2005/11/dulce-de-lechec/
And if you never made filled cupcakes, this is a great tutorial, I used the cone method for these cupcakes: http://annies-eats.net/2011/03/07/how-to-make-filled-cupcakes/
Good luck. I know it's hard when you dont get the number you want. I only had 7 at retrieval. And wanted also double figures. But hey who knows. That is not an indication as to weather you will be successful or not
ReplyDeleteYou still have a few days for more follies to catch up. Hoping and praying for you!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, it's quality over quantity. Praying for good growth, and maybe a few more follies for good measure!
ReplyDeleteI'm around 7... quality over quantity, you are right... although it's hard because I'm hoping for frosties too. We have come too far now and just have to keep repeating, "it only takes one" :]
ReplyDeleteHang in there! And keep posting! It's nice to know what's in store for me. 1st IVF in April/May for us.
ReplyDeleteAnd I HATE insurance. They've been nothing but difficult! Consider yourself lucky that you have coverage at all!
